If you choose to join us, this is what you will do while you are here:

  • Help shape the project management team and implement a newly created workflow model for the local office, ultimately responsible for staffing PM’s to this new model.
  • Lead by example and mentor other PM’s to help enforce our new PM driven workflow model.
  • Represent the local office PM team when collaborating with SVP Operations, regarding North American initiatives related to resource management, project management and project delivery.
  • Represent the NYC office while assisting the SVP Operations in the design, testing and implementation of a new workflow management platform, Workfront.
  • Serve as the local office administrator of Workfront. This includes an expert level understanding of the platform functionality from an end user perspective as well as an intermediate understanding of how the SaaS solution works and how it can be customized.
  • Work with SVP Operations in support of testing and implementation of future Workfront functionality or customizations
  • Help develop custom reporting and dashboards out of Workfront that deliver insights to key management across gyro teams.
  • Report to SVP Operations.
  • Create solid project plans and budgets that support both the company’s and client’s interests.
  • Work with account teams to scope projects and ensure that projects are managed according to the statement of work., ultimately responsible for profitability and on-time delivery.
  • Oversee management of client and agency staff in profitable delivery of work according to scope.
  • Manage project communication and document issues and changes that affect the project.
  • Manage, monitor, and maintain the project scope and communicate status of scope to team members.
  • Engage in and/or lead client facing meetings around project planning, progress reporting, or changes in scope.
  • In collaboration with SVP Operations, enforce, influence and evangelize process improvement initiatives across multiple departments.
  • Ensure that workflow processes are adhered to while communicating and rationalizing any unique needs of the local office to the SVP Operations.
  • Work with department heads to schedule resources and regulate investment of staff time.
  • Regularly communicate status of projects by means of weekly meetings, status reports, and updates.
  • Help to maintain overall quality by ensuring proofing, review and approval of deliverables according to internal routing procedures.
  • Diplomatically enforce deadlines.
  • Report to SVP Operations.

We are looking for someone who will bring: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of project management experience, preferably at a creative agency.
  • 5+ years managing project management teams.
  • Demonstrable experience with leading operational change management initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Must be able to coordinate and facilitate discussions and meetings across client and agency teams.
  • Must have outstanding interpersonal and problem solving skills and be a team player.
  • Ability to effectively negotiate and diplomatically manage conflict.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail.
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Work across various accounts and simultaneously manage execution of multiple fast-moving campaigns from conception through to final delivery
  • Provide expertise in trafficking a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment
  • Monitor, report and manage scope, resources, scheduling, budgets and tracking as well as developments of project plans
  • Collaborate extensively with external parties to build, manage and maintain key relationships

gyro is the Dentsu Aegis Network B2B specialist agency and represents clients internationally as such B2B/International experience is preferable, however not essential.  Strong digital knowledge, however, is a must. The successful candidate should also hold excellent client service skills and be ready to act as the right hand person to the Account Director or executive leadership.  The role will require excellent leadership, managerial and planning skills and the successful candidate will be instrumental in setting the tone for how the account is managed.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Media Planning:

  • Responsible for leading communication strategy and working closely with the Precision Planning Director and Head of Media to ideate and architect media plans that deliver against objectives
  • Accountable for media plan output timeliness, accuracy, and overall excellence
  • A lead role in the process of strategic media planning and serve as a resource for account management and executives for advice and counsel
  • Responsible for ensuring that all budgets and campaign plans are aligned with client budget parameters
  • Understand and champion new techniques and technologies relevant to aid achievement of client’s goals
  • Analyze campaign level reporting for optimization and learning
  • Provide and discuss industry information on media, markets and related dynamics
  • Maintain relationships with media community; continue to develop publisher and higher relationships for exchange of ideas
  • Develop understanding of gyro and broader Dentsu Aegis Network capabilities in order to be able to identify additional solutions, where relevant

Digital Experience:

  • Understanding of programmatic ecosystem and have ability to leverage data to pinpoint audiences and nurture prospects along path to conversion
  • Understand opportunities that various social platforms offer, ideally with ability to activate in the engagement of business audiences
  • Experience with robust reporting frameworks and the tech infrastructure needed to enable them
  • Experience of ad serving/viewability technology

Client & Internal Relationships:

  • Responsible for client leadership and management for media specific elements of full service accounts and full ownership of media-only client relationships
  • Build and maintain trusting, collaborative relationships with clients at appropriate levels
  • Manage expectations of clients and deliverables
  • Accurately represent the client’s point of view when reviewing work, leverage this perspective when providing feedback to team and presenting to client
  • Identifies opportunities to offer other agency service line offerings to existing clients
  • Grow business opportunities within current clients, where appropriate
  • Capable of effectively managing up and down the reporting structure

Strategic Thinking & Leadership:

  • Work alongside Account and Strategy Directors to devise strategic approach
  • Ensure interagency team understands strategy and is able to deliver against it
  • Demonstrate problem solving and intervention when necessary
  • Understand and analyse the root causes of problems and develop ways to rectify
  • Ensure key information is provided to team regarding client issues, internal agency issues, changes in account status, etc.

Communications Skills:

  • Establish and maintain communications process with clients, offline media teams, creative, etc. for each piece of business within the team
  • Direct the development of client presentations and other important communication that is clear, compelling and persuasive
  • Lead client presentations and strategic discussions
  • Communicate key information about our company
  • Adapt communication style to relevant client contacts and be able to tailor to their perspectives and, where appropriate, any concerns
  • Moves audience to desired action through clear and persuasive delivery of information

Experience/Knowledge Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 7 + years of media planning experience
  • Client service experience
  • Understanding of key research sources
  • Proven management experience
  • Experience in digital marketing and current knowledge of trends and innovations in traditional media
  • Knowledge of modern demand generation techniques including ABM
  • High-level proficiency in media plan mix and optimizing tools, Telmar, IMS as well as PowerPoint and Excel
