The Senior Content Strategist is at the intersection of planning and creative, helping to develop strong editorial for brands that live across multiple platforms, including digital, print and video. Senior Content Strategists create plans and tactics that drive a brand’s narrative through various stories and channels in ways that yield awareness, relevance, and lead generation for the brand.

  • Must be able to lead multi-channel content strategies that will span across critical consumer touch points in owned, earned, and paid media

If you’ve got your finger on the pulse of North American agriculture and you’re part journalist, part PR specialist, and part social media addict, we want you part of our team.

Quality and consistency is important as is successfully interpreting the client’s needs.

The Senior Account Executive is responsible for the execution of all assigned client projects. The Senior AE coordinates and manages agency resources for their projects and acts as the day-to-day interface between the various agency departments that are involved in project development. The Strategic Account Planner is responsible for distilling the most essential insights, building and presenting a smart, well rationalized strategy recommendation for the client and inspiring internal teams to develop breakthrough creative ideas that address defined business problems. Acting as a voice of the consumer within an agency, the Account Planner will collect and synthesize insights to help identify ideal audiences, rational and emotive decision drivers and optimum methods of communication. Account Planning’s core charter has always been to bring the attitudes, behaviors and interests of customers into the creative process to produce more compelling and effective advertising. However, as the definition of “advertising” has expanded to include messaging, content and experiences delivered across paid, owned and earned media, the responsibilities of Account Planning have expanded as well. To reflect these changes, gyro has created the Integrated Brand Strategy group to play the pivotal role of lead strategic integrator across all accounts and projects; blending the strategic perspectives and expertise of our Media, Content, PR, UX and Analytics disciplines into comprehensive yet highly focused strategic direction across a range of strategic deliverables.

 

In an agency world becoming increasingly specialized, the Integrated Brand Strategist must specialize in integration, combining a strong foundational understanding of media, content, analytics and all things digital with a proven expertise in brand strategy, consumer research and communications. Integrated Brand Strategists at gyro must be equal parts data-driven case makers and visceral big picture storytellers. To deliver more humanly relevant ideas for our clients they are expected to tackle the big problems, to question, inspire, integrate and above all, lead. This is not Account Planning per usual and we seek only those energized by the opportunity to challenge and redefine what it means to be a Brand Strategist today.

 

The Planning Director: Integrated Brand Strategy will have 10+ years of Account Planning or Brand Strategy experience in an agency setting and will have specific experience in the following areas:

 

  • Proven experience as strategic leader across multiple accounts
  • A love of new business and experience leading pitches from a strategic perspective
  • Experience managing junior strategists
  • Experience leading client teams in the creations of integrated communications plans and helping manage such cross-functional projects from initiation to implementation
  • A love of mining data and experience working with internal analytics and clients to extract actionable insights from the mounds of data at our disposal
  • Deep experience in leading foundational brand strategy / brand architecture work
  • Well versed in a wide range of marketing research tools and methodologies – from new ways of leveraging technology to conduct primary research, to a deep working knowledge of 3rd party research, secondary and social listening
  • A demonstrated fluency and comfort level working with a wide range of agency disciplines including media, social, content, UX and analytics.
  • An equal comfort level working with paid, owned and earned media and experience weaving them together to connect with consumers across the entirety of their journey
  • A passion for storytelling and experience leveraging different story formats to inspire effective strategic direction and compelling creative (briefs, briefings, journeys, personas, connections plans, brand strategies, new business pitches)
  • Experience in designing and facilitating both client facing and internal workshops
  • A demonstrated entrepreneurial streak and aptitude for motivating clients, internal teams or other Planners to approach solving marketing challenges in new and better ways
  • Specific B2B experience is a plus but not required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business related field
  • Masters Degree in business related field is a plus

The Account Executive is responsible for the day-to-day management of the client’s business. This position is instrumental in ensuring that all client projects are completed on time, on budget and meet client/agency objectives. The AE works with Project Management to coordinate agency resources for their projects and will interface with the various departments and personnel that are involved in project development on a day-to-day basis.

  • Act as primary client contact for appropriate client match
  • Develop knowledge of clients’ business, competitive challenges, and how key strategic 
issues could impact client/agency objectives
  • Develop an understanding of integrated marketing campaign management, production processes 
and reporting and participate in the marketing planning process
  • Learn how multiple marketing disciplines, beyond just advertising or direct response, can best 
work together to support client goals
  • Provide effective/timely communications to agency staff, clients, and partner agencies through 
conference reports, emails, etc.
  • Develop, with AS supervision, tactical briefs based on client/agency input and present briefs to 
creative team and other agency departments involved in the project’s development
  • Learn how to analyze campaign results, draw conclusions and proactively make 
recommendations to optimize the client’s program
  • Learn to evaluate copy, layout/artwork, media plans and production materials against approved 
briefs and make recommendations as appropriate prior to concepts being presented to clients
  • Implement tactical programs through production across channels
  • Coordinate development of estimates, billing and vendor invoices within approved budgets
  • Track agency time logged against estimates and reconcile on a bi-monthly basis
  • Partner with Project Management to confirm that projects in the pipeline are progressing 
according to client expectation and, if project delays or cost/time overages are suspected, 
proactively address situation with manager
  • Liaise with peers at client partner agencies to manage process effectively and resolve 
conflict as needed
  • Keep supervisor and management fully informed of account challenges and opportunities

We are looking for someone who will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
  • 1-4 yrs. relevant marketing programs management and/or agency experience
  • Knowledge of digital marketing
  • B-to-B experience preferred

The Account Supervisor is responsible for managing, coordinating and leading agency resources to meet the integrated marketing communication needs of assigned accounts. This position is often the primary day-to-day interface with mid-level client decision-makers and, with their Account Director, instrumental to the client’s success with the agency, and gyro‘s financial success with the account. This role also assists agency management to define key strategic issues for clients, and their impact on agency objectives. In addition, they will provide input to the management team on opportunities to generate incremental revenue growth, and will often be responsible for account team direct reports.

  • Develop knowledge of clients’ business, competitive challenges, and how key strategic issues could impact client/agency objectives
  • Develop an understanding of integrated marketing campaign management, production processes and reporting
  • Develop project/creative/media briefs based on client/agency input and present briefs to creative team and other agency departments involved in the project’s development

  • Lead meetings (internal/client) and deliver presentations clearly, effectively and confidently

  • Identify new opportunities within existing accounts and/or with complementary businesses to recommend and sell additional agency services

The Account Director is responsible for acting as the client’s strategic advisor in business, marketing and communications. Identify new business building ideas for clients which organically leads to new biz opportunities for the agency. Also, lead internal teams to manage toward client short-term and long-term objectives/strategies. In addition, they will analyze and create complex business/marketing strategic concepts. Some travel is required for this role.

We are looking for someone who will bring: 

  • 4-7 years of experience in similar editorial, content marketing, content strategy or content curation role
  • Journalism, PR/communication and/or professional writing/storytelling background
  • Experience producing a variety of content deliverables, including blog posts, articles, podcasts, videos, webinars, infographics, social media chatter and media relations materials
  • Agency or publishing experience preferred
