  • Media planning and buying

gyro is the Dentsu Aegis Network B2B specialist agency and represents clients internationally as such B2B/International experience is preferable, however not essential.  Strong digital knowledge, however, is a must. The successful candidate should also hold excellent client service skills and be ready to act as the right hand person to the Account Director or executive leadership.  The role will require excellent leadership, managerial and planning skills and the successful candidate will be instrumental in setting the tone for how the account is managed.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Media Planning:

  • Responsible for leading communication strategy and working closely with the Precision Planning Director and Head of Media to ideate and architect media plans that deliver against objectives
  • Accountable for media plan output timeliness, accuracy, and overall excellence
  • A lead role in the process of strategic media planning and serve as a resource for account management and executives for advice and counsel
  • Responsible for ensuring that all budgets and campaign plans are aligned with client budget parameters
  • Understand and champion new techniques and technologies relevant to aid achievement of client’s goals
  • Analyze campaign level reporting for optimization and learning
  • Provide and discuss industry information on media, markets and related dynamics
  • Maintain relationships with media community; continue to develop publisher and higher relationships for exchange of ideas
  • Develop understanding of gyro and broader Dentsu Aegis Network capabilities in order to be able to identify additional solutions, where relevant

Digital Experience:

  • Understanding of programmatic ecosystem and have ability to leverage data to pinpoint audiences and nurture prospects along path to conversion
  • Understand opportunities that various social platforms offer, ideally with ability to activate in the engagement of business audiences
  • Experience with robust reporting frameworks and the tech infrastructure needed to enable them
  • Experience of ad serving/viewability technology

Client & Internal Relationships:

  • Responsible for client leadership and management for media specific elements of full service accounts and full ownership of media-only client relationships
  • Build and maintain trusting, collaborative relationships with clients at appropriate levels
  • Manage expectations of clients and deliverables
  • Accurately represent the client’s point of view when reviewing work, leverage this perspective when providing feedback to team and presenting to client
  • Identifies opportunities to offer other agency service line offerings to existing clients
  • Grow business opportunities within current clients, where appropriate
  • Capable of effectively managing up and down the reporting structure

Strategic Thinking & Leadership:

  • Work alongside Account and Strategy Directors to devise strategic approach
  • Ensure interagency team understands strategy and is able to deliver against it
  • Demonstrate problem solving and intervention when necessary
  • Understand and analyse the root causes of problems and develop ways to rectify
  • Ensure key information is provided to team regarding client issues, internal agency issues, changes in account status, etc.

Communications Skills:

  • Establish and maintain communications process with clients, offline media teams, creative, etc. for each piece of business within the team
  • Direct the development of client presentations and other important communication that is clear, compelling and persuasive
  • Lead client presentations and strategic discussions
  • Communicate key information about our company
  • Adapt communication style to relevant client contacts and be able to tailor to their perspectives and, where appropriate, any concerns
  • Moves audience to desired action through clear and persuasive delivery of information

Experience/Knowledge Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 7 + years of media planning experience
  • Client service experience
  • Understanding of key research sources
  • Proven management experience
  • Experience in digital marketing and current knowledge of trends and innovations in traditional media
  • Knowledge of modern demand generation techniques including ABM
  • High-level proficiency in media plan mix and optimizing tools, Telmar, IMS as well as PowerPoint and Excel
