Madrid – gyro, the global ideas shop, has appointed Blanca Gómara López executive creative director of its Madrid office.
Blanca steps into the newly created role with a wealth of experience, having worked on iconic brands such as Coca-Cola, Caixa Bank, Nescafé, Telefónica and Repsol YPF while at top shops Publicis Groupe, McCann Worldgroup and Ruiz Nicoli. Most recently, she was strategic creative director at Young & Rubicam, providing creative vision across a wide portfolio of clients.
She joins gyro Madrid General Manager Ana Garcia-Hierro at a time of exciting growth. Madrid continues to excel with existing clients AGS, Bosch, Chep, HP, Orange and SanDisk. López has received some of the industry’s most sought-after global awards for her work. She has won The Pacifier, FIAP, El Sol, CdC and Eurobest.
“After nearly 20 years working for multinational agencies, I craved a breath of fresh air in my professional life,” said López. “I felt like taking on something more edgy, ‘indie,’ without losing that international perspective. I wanted to be part of a multicultural group that had one sole purpose: good advertising. I love good ideas – and I have the feeling that they are more than welcome here.”
“Blanca landed at gyro Madrid with an energy that is undeniable,” said Garcia-Hierro. “We are so pleased to have a person that shares the passion for the humanly relevant ideas that drive gyro. We are aligned in our creative direction and ready to take off.”
“Blanca is committed to gyro’s goal of igniting emotion in everything we create,” says Christoph Becker, gyro ceo+cco. “She offers a rich history of creative success on all fronts that will help our global ideas shop grow even more.”
