London [June 4, 2015] – gyro, the global ideas shop, has appointed David Harris as Executive Creative Director of its London office.
Teamed with the strong leadership of gyro London Managing Director Kate Howe, Harris will help to intensify gyro’s growing presence as a business-to-business powerhouse in this highly competitive market.
Harris has held ECD roles at other top agencies, including Wunderman (leading Microsoft’s business-to-business work) and most recently FCB where he worked on Beiersdorf (Nivea, Eucerin and Elastoplast) and Mondelez (Oreo and Tuc). Harris was also instrumental in co-founding the integrated agency LIDA with M&C Saatchi. He successfully grew LIDA from two to 60-plus people, winning iconic brands including British Airways, RBS/NatWest, Garrard, Mandarin Oriental, MG Rover and Inland Revenue, to name a few.
Harris’ strong creative excellence has been highly awarded, including national and international accolades as well as coveted IPA and Marketing Week effectiveness awards, which reflect his belief in accountable creativity. Harris chaired the creative jury at the MAA Best Awards and has judged other major award shows, including D&AD, Campaign and Eurobest.
As creative director of the nonprofit END7, Harris has worked tirelessly to help eradicate deadly tropical diseases in some of the world’s most poverty stricken areas. The company’s latest video has just topped six million views in Asia. He is also a board member for the Marketing Agencies Association as a champion of creativity and creative trainer for its Future Leaders program.
