LONDON – (April 22, 2010) – Gyro Live, the specialist events business of international marketing agency network gyro, has been awarded the contract to execute experiential activity in support of the Diabetes UK Measure Up Roadshow. The appointment comes following a competitive two-way pitch.
The Measure Up Roadshow is part of Diabetes UK’s ongoing work to raise awareness of Type 2 diabetes and consists of a series of events held across the UK, offering advice, support and Type 2 diabetes risk assessments. Gyro Live will produce experiential activity to coincide with five of the Measure Up Roadshow events and will bring to life the key preventative measures of eating well and moving more.
The ‘move more’ aspect of the roadshow will come from working with local dance studios and as part of the programme, will offer dance lessons with the aim of inspiring visitors to become more physically active. There will also be staff on hand to offer healthy lifestyle advice, food to taste and an ‘Eat Well Challenge’ to engage people in considering their portion sizes of different food groups. Leading a healthy lifestyle reduces your risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.
Diabetes UK is the largest organisation in the UK working for people with diabetes, funding research, campaigning and helping people live with the condition and has over 160,000 members. The organisation’s mission is to improve the lives of people with diabetes and to work towards a future without diabetes. The activity is targeted at those most at risk of developing the condition including people over 40, of Black or South Asian origin and those who are overweight.
