Manchester [February 18, 2015] – gyro, the global ideas shop, has appointed Martin Tapley Head of Planning of gyro Manchester. Tapley will be responsible for uncovering insights that will allow gyro clients to reach their customers in the most effective and humanly relevant manner.
Tapley is an astute and versatile thinker with a proven track record in effective communication strategy and content development.
He has joined gyro from the BBC Marketing and Audiences department where he was Senior Audience Planner. There, he successfully defined the positioning of the English Football Association’s FA Cup. He also reworked the 5 Live schedule and oversaw a number of major research projects to understand media literacy and digital participation in the UK.
Prior to the BBC, Tapley cut his teeth at TBWA/Manchester on major accounts such as BP, Brother International Europe, Cussons and Nissan.
An outdoor enthusiast, Tapley is a white water raft guide and also enjoys mountain biking, kayaking, rock climbing and stand-up comedy.
