run set a track record of 58.71 seconds at Cesana in Italy. She now
leads the overall World Cup standings after a second-place finish in
Lake Placid and fourth place in Park City. Former multiple world
champion Kristan currently ranks ninth in the world rankings.
In the first three World Cup races of this season the Bromley Ice team,
through their sled technology programme, have already triumphed to
secure three medals. Shelley has taken home both gold and silver, while
Kristan has secured a bronze.
With the Winter
Olympics drawing closer, GyroHSR recently announced a five figure
sponsorship deal with Bromley Ice, to support the team in the run up to
its Vancouver 2010 bid.
Comments Richard Glasson, CEO
GyroHSR: “Congratulations to Shelley on another sensational result. We
are proud of our association with Shelley and Kristan, and will
continue to provide support to them as they look to lead the British
charge at the 2010 Olympics. The achievements of the Bromley Ice team
don’t get the recognition they deserve, and we’re delighted to give
whatever support we can. Our G Foundation is all about creating
opportunities, and we hope that in some small way our sponsorship of
Shelley and Kristan will give them the greatest chance of success, even
as their education initiative spurs the next generation to make the
most of their talents.”
