Lum to Scout Talent for gyro

NEW YORK – September 9, 2011 – Lori Lum has joined gyro, the b2b agency, as lead talent scout. In this new position she will be responsible for identifying and recruiting top talent in all disciplines across the gyro network.

A graduate of the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Lum began her career as an art director. She then moved into creative management for some of the most respected chief creatives in the industry, including Parry Merkley, Marty Cooke, Tony Granger and Ty Montague. Her new duties reunite her with Christoph Becker, with whom she served at FCB, then DraftFCB. Becker is CEO and chief creative officer at gyro.

Before joining gyro, Lum was director of creative management at JWT New York. She also has served as director of creative operations at DraftFCB and as creative manager at Bozell. This is not her first time at a start-up. Lum was one part of the launch of Merkley Newman Harty; now Merkley + Partners; with Parry Merkley, Jane Newman and Steve Harty.

She is the New York director of the Institute for Advanced Advertising Studies for the 4As, and serves on the advisory board of The Thorn Tree Project, a non-profit that sends the children of northern Kenya to school.
