(LONDON) – January 20, 2011 – The IDM B2B Council welcomes Pete Jakob, Marketing Transformation Leader, IBM UK & Ireland; Andrew Buckley, VP Marketing & Strategy, American Express, Richard Perry, COO of GyroHSR, holder of multiple best-in-class B2B agency awards and Chris Wilson, Chair of the Association of Business to Business Agencies (ABBA) and MD of B2B agency Earnest.
They join a 17-member strong Council of leading B2B practitioners whose role is to help shape the IDM’s B2B training, qualifications and events portfolio and to share and promote B2B best practice throughout the profession.
IDM B2B Council Chair, Debbie Williams F IDM, Managing Director of SMART B2B Marketing comments: “I am delighted to welcome these senior B2B marketing practitioners to the Council – and from such leading B2B brands. An already powerful body, the IDM B2B Council continues to grow from strength to strength, with initiatives like the highly respected annual IDM B2B Conference and B2B Barometer survey denoting it as the voice in best practice B2B Marketing.”
“At a time when there is so much change and flux in the industry it’s
vital that B2B marketers stay not only up to date, but take the lead and
innovate in their space. Marketing and communications has changed and
B2B is at the heart of that change. No one is better placed than the IDM
to lead the industry and understand how brands can capitalise on the
new opportunities emerging on a daily basis,” added Richard Perry, Chief
Operating Officer, GyroHSR.
“I’ve often thought that the needs of B2B marketers have been under-served compared with our B2C cousins. Many of the most interesting and challenging topics in marketing currently are specific to B2B – and the B2B marketer is having to develop new skills. I am passionate about our profession, having spent all my working life in it – so the opportunity to contribute by working more closely with the IDM and my peers was something I couldn’t resist,” said Pete Jakob, Marketing Transformation Leader, IBM UK & Ireland.
“I’m delighted to join the IDM B2B Marketing Council. I’m looking forward to the superb opportunities it affords to contribute to the B2B marketing community and of course to advance our thinking,” said Andrew Buckley, Vice President Marketing & Strategy, American Express Commercial Card.
Current Council initiatives include the annual IDM B2B Marketing Conference which takes place in central London on 18 May 2011 and the 4th wave of the bi-annual B2B Barometer survey is now underway. Responses are invited for the current study here. More information about the IDM B2B Council and its members is available at the IDM website.
