LONDON – (May 17, 2010) – B2b agency gyro has launched an academy across the group’s 19 offices covering Europe, North America and Asia. The gyro Academy is a yearly program designed to offer its rising young agency stars the chance put their marketing careers on the fast track by taking part in an intensive six-month training and personal development program.
From an employee base of 600, 27 employees have been invited to take part in the academy and be personally mentored by one of the agency’s globally based board directors. These members include Richard Glasson, CEO; Richard Perry, COO; Rick Segal, CEO, North America; and Christoph Becker, CCO.
The first phase of the training program involves all 27 academy members traveling to Sweden, where they are to attend an intensive week-long Hyper Island training course on business leadership and how to harness emerging digital technologies. Christina Andersson, UK managing director, Hyper Island, commented, “The gyro/Hyper Island collaboration is an industry first. By marrying Hyper Island’s lifelong learning methodology with gyro’s agency approach and expertise, we are delivering a truly unique opportunity for the 27 academy members. We’re thrilled to be partnering with such a progressive agency like gyro and look forward to building a long-term relationship with them.”
Similar training programs are scheduled in North America for later this year.
The total investment in the program is in excess of $200,000. “Investing in young talent has been part of our DNA since day one,” said Perry. “The Hyper Island training program is yet another example of why gyro is firmly a career destination agency and not a steppingstone like so many others.”
