gyro APAC Elevates Sweis to Head of Media; Santos to Account Director

SINGAPORE [February 28, 2018] – gyro, the world’s first full-service, global creative B2B powerhouse, has promoted a top media leader and welcomed two new hires to its rapidly expanding Singapore office.

Rimi Sweis has been promoted to Head of Media for gyro APAC. Sweis has held multiple media account roles within Band Interprise and previously Carat Enterprise which merged with gyro under the Dentsu Aegis Network in July 2016. Rimi has excelled in driving digital innovation and superior planning in B2B media. Additionally, she has proven successful in delivering regional media strategy and operations.

gyro APAC has also promoted Geraldson Santos to Account Director. Santos’ role will support the innovation of gyro’s B2B media offering; continuing to work across key accounts including Epson, USG Boral and Microsoft.

The gyro media team welcomes two new hires: Fathiah Abdul joins as Account Manager, and will be leading day-to-day media planning. Prior to gyro, Abdul was at Carat Singapore.

Shi Yi joins as Account Executive as well, with a passion for performance marketing and paid social. Shi Yi joined from the performance marketing agency Webnatics.

gyro UK Unveils Revamped Leadership Line Up

Leading business-to-business marketing agency gyro UK has strengthened its full-service offering for clients with an enhanced management line-up following a host of appointments and promotions.

Kate Howe, previously managing director, has been promoted to Chief Executive. She will lead gyro’s continued evolution as a full-service B2B marketing agency and work with Liz Jones, CEO of B2B at parent company Dentsu Aegis Network to deliver its capabilities to new and existing clients.

The promotion underlines Howe’s stature as a leader within the B2B industry and her pivotal role in the agency’s integration within Dentsu Aegis Network after it acquired the agency in July 2016 and subsequently incorporated the network’s B2B media shop, Interprise.

Beth Freedman joins from Saatchi & Saatchi Pro to take up the role of Managing Director.  She will oversee overall client relationships and the agency’s operations helping its clients unlock the value of gyro’s full
service capabilities. Freedman brings more than two decades’ of industry experience working with major players at Fallon and most recently worked as head of client services at the Publicis brand formerly called Saatchi Masius.

Ian Bell also arrives from Dentsu Aegis Network media agency Carat as Chief Strategy Officer. He will lead the 12-strong strategy team across gyro UK, help gyro leverage the wider network’s diverse skills and capabilities and identify strategic solutions for new and existing clients’ problems. His experience spans 20 years working across both B2B and B2C campaigns for respected advertisers such as Mondelez, Rolls Royce Motor Cars and Proctor & Gamble.

Finally, the agency’s Executive Creative Director David Harris has been promoted to Chief Creative Officer of gyro UK in recognition of his work delivering best-in-class creative solutions since joining in June 2015.

gyro New York Names Kash Sree Group Creative Director

New York [Feb. 9, 2017] – gyro, the world’s first full-service global creative B2B powerhouse, has appointed Kash Sree Group Creative Director for its New York office.

Sree has worked at many of the top agencies including SS&K, where he was Chief Creative Officer. While at SS&K he was responsible for the total creative output for Chevy, Kraft, Pfizer, and Subway.

Sree also held Executive Creative Director roles at Perreira & O’Dell and JWT, in addition to vital roles at BBH New York, Leo Burnett Chicago, and Wieden+Kennedy. Over the course of his career, Sree worked on and turned around huge global accounts including Vaseline Healthcare, DeBeers, Axe, British Airways, Kleenex, and Nintendo, to name a few.

While at Wieden+Kennedy, Sree helped create some of the agency’s most iconic work for Nike, including the Tiger Woods “Hackeysack” spot, which quickly became a global hit. He also picked up a Cannes Grand Prix and an Emmy for his work on the Nike “Play” and “Move” campaigns.

Prior to taking on the full-time role at gyro, Sree freelanced for the agency since May 2016 where he was responsible for the work the agency created for Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Hiscox USA.

gyro Promotes Liam Blackwell to Global Chief Digital Officer

[Feb. 1, 2017] gyro, the world’s first full-service global B2B creative powerhouse, has promoted Liam Blackwell to the newly created role of Global Chief Digital Officer. He will oversee the development and fluency of gyro’s digital products and services across its 16 offices worldwide. 

Blackwell has been a part of the Dentsu Aegis Network (DAN) for four years working first at Carat Enterprise, which quickly grew to become DAN’s successful B2B agency Interprise. At Interprise he served as U.S. president, responsible for building, growing and leading the agency with now gyro Global President Stuart Giddings. 

Interprise was successfully integrated into gyro following the agency’s acquisition by DAN in July 2016. 

Before joining DAN, Blackwell helped launch and grow The Register, which grew to become one of the world’s largest enterprise technology news sites. Prior to that, he led international digital sales at VNU Business Publications (owned by the global giant Nielsen). There he conceived and launched the first B2B digital advertising network which counted Intel and HP among the first clients.
