Self Chec: Coders vs. Cancer
Self Chec is a nonprofit that aims to build a “prevention nation” through resources that help people proactively put their health future in their own hands. Self Chec came to us with a focus on self-detectable cancers including breast, testicular and skin. gyro didn’t hit on just a single solution. We came up with a pipeline full of options.
The knowledge that self-examination can save lives is prevalent, but it often doesn’t trigger the necessary action. gyro created Coders vs. Cancer, a hackathon series, to solve these challenges by driving effective behavioral change in a world where a person’s individual actions could be the difference between life and death. After 50 hours, teams devised 11 programs, leveraging artificial intelligence, augmented reality, social networks and data visualization.
