Kimberly-clark Professional: Healthy Workplace Challenge

Many employees choose to come to work sick rather than stay home, which makes the office a happy breeding ground for germs. And as a consequence for a company of 1,000 employees, the bill for absenteeism can reach $1.6 million every year. That’s why Kimberly-Clark Professional and gyro created an employee engagement program to promote hygiene and productivity, and sent it to HR managers and chief operations officers. The Healthy Workplace 90-day Challenge divided offices into teams competing in daily sanitizing tasks by using the provided Kimberly-Clark Professional products to earn points and win prizes. Ninety-five percent of employees participated in the challenge, and absenteeism was reduced by 46 percent as a result. Kimberly-Clark Professional not only sold more sanitizer, but it also became viewed as an invaluable partner in the success of its customers.
